What are the requirements to receive incontinence supplies from Arizona Medicaid?

Arizona Medicaid covers incontinence supplies that are medically necessary to treat the patient’s condition. In order to receive incontinence supplies from AZ Medicaid, you must have the following:

  • A medical diagnosis that requires incontinence supplies
  • A prescription from your doctor for specific incontinence supplies 
  • Duration of time supplies are needed for treatment
  • Prior authorization may be required

Incontinence supplies are covered for adults older than 21 years old who are members of the Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS). Dispensing of incontinence briefs should not exceed 180 briefs per month, unless written by the prescribing physician that it is medically necessary.
